Chemical Peel

A chemical peel employs chemical solution. It is applied to the skin which causes the skin to exfoliate and peel off. There is a generation or formation of a new skin that is smoother than the old skin.

The most widely used peel types are:

  • CO2 laser peels
  • Superficial peel
  • Medium peel
  • Deep peel

CO2 laser peels
With the CO2 laser peels, the damaged skin cells on surface are vaporized. Resurfacing of the skin is done which gives it a younger, softer and smoother look. The skin layers that are damaged get removed and thus wrinkles, scarring, sun damage and deeper facial lines get treated. As deeper layers of the damaged skin are removed, the skin is stimulated for the regeneration of healthy skin. Local anesthesia is sued during this procedure which lasts for about 30 to 60 minutes.
